The Cerutti-Reid Duo appears in its first performance at the Island Arts Center. On this summer evening chamber concert, you will hear Brahms' F major Sonata, Canadian-American composer David Jaeger's Tristan and Isolde Sonata, and the “Long Parting” by Vermont composer Carol Wood.
As the Cerutti-Reid Duo over the last eighteen years, pianist Alison Bruce Cerutti and violist Elizabeth Reid have performed in Vermont at the Barre Opera House, Brandon Music, Norwich University, and Vermont Public Radio. They have also appeared in Canada numerous times. Alison and Elizabeth are founding members of the celebrated Vermont chamber groups, the Northern Third Piano Quartet, and Arioso.
A "fierce champion of today's music" (Times Argus), Canadian-American violist Elizabeth Reid is renowned as a captivating contemporary and classical music performer. She has performed many solo viola concerts in Canada and the USA, premiering works by David Jaeger, Elisabeth Blair, Danielle O'Hallisey, John Mark Sherlock, and Erik Nielsen. She is principal violist of the Opera Company of Middlebury Orchestra, and a member of the chamber groups TURNmusic and the Northern Third Piano Quartet. She has appeared as a soloist with the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra, Burlington Civic Symphony, and Counterpoint Chorus.
Alison Bruce Cerutti is a pianist based in Northfield, Vermont, and performs as a soloist and chamber musician in Vermont, Canada, and France. She has appeared as a soloist with the Norwich University Band Company, the Burlington Civic Symphony, and the Vermont Philharmonic in Barre. She has premiered works by Vermont composers Michael Close, Lydia Busler, Erik Nielsen, David Gunn, Dennis Bathory-Kitsz, Carol Wood, and Canadian composer David Jaeger. As one of Vermont’s leading collaborative pianists, she performs with the Mad River Chorale, Winooski Valley Festival, All-State Music Festival, the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, and others.
